Exfoliants are used to remove dead skin cells and improve its texture and appearance. It is recommended to use an exfoliator once or twice a week, depending on the type of skin. To use, apply a small amount to hands and gently rub into damp skin in circular motions for a few minutes. Then, rinse well with lukewarm water and apply a moisturizing cream. It is important not to overdo the use of exfoliants and avoid the area around the eyes.

There are different types of exfoliants, which differ in their form of action and the ingredients they contain. Some examples are:

  • Mechanical exfoliants: they are those that contain abrasive particles, such as walnut shells, sugar or rice grains, which, rubbing gently on the skin, help to eliminate dead cells.
  • Chemical exfoliants: they are those that contain chemical substances such as salicylic, glycolic, lactic acid, among others, that help to eliminate dead skin cells. These scrubs are usually recommended for skin with acne or blemishes.
  • Enzymatic exfoliants: they are those that contain enzymes, such as papain or bromelain, which help dissolve dead skin cells. These are usually recommended for sensitive skin or those with rosacea problems.

It is important to choose the right exfoliator for your skin type and follow the instructions for use to avoid damaging the skin. Oily skin should exfoliate once a week, while dry and sensitive skin should exfoliate every 10-15 days. The scrub should be applied to damp skin.
